Attorney Ronald R. Gilbert

Ronald R. Gilbert began representing victims of spinal cord injuries and their families in
1981. Since then he has worked on behalf of more than 200 people with spinal cord injuries
in 35 states.
The spinal cord community knows Ron Gilbert as a lawyer
who cares. He has worked hard as an advocate for the handicapped, and to prevent other
injuries. He handles cases personally, providing support through an extremely difficult
time of life.
Mr. Gilbert believes that equipment manufacturers and
other should take a more responsible role in preventing spinal cord injuries. Through
litigation, legislation and public awareness, he has pressed companies to make changes
that can prevent accidents and spinal cord injuries.
In addition to his work as a trial attorney, Ron Gilbert
is active in efforts to promote spinal cord safety through education and legislation. He's
the chairman and founder of the Foundation For Spinal Cord Injury Prevention, Care &
Cure and the Foundation for Aquatic Injury Prevention. He is past Secretary and past
chairman of the prevention committee of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association, and
served as a member of the NSCIA Board of Directors.
Ron Gilbert has worked with the Paralyzed Veterans of
America in sponsoring spinal cord injury and drunk driving legislations, and has received
a certificate appreciation from the PVAs Michigan Chapter. He also has worked with the
Consumer Product Safety Commission on the National Swimming Pool Safety Committee.
Mr. Gilbert is a member of the American Bar Association,
the State Bar of Michigan, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Mr. Gilbert also is on the Board of Directors of the
National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) and spoken at numerous spinal cord and
head injury and prevention meetings nationwide. He also has been chosen as a member of Who's
Who in American Law as well as Who's Who in America. He also has spoken at
numerous spinal cord, head injury, and prevention meetings nationwide.
